Shanghai Healthcare Capital was established in December 2020 authorized by Shanghai Municipal Government. The fund was initiated by Shanghai Industrial Investment (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (SIIC), and targets a total management scale of 50 billion RMB.
The fund's vision is to fully leverage Shanghai's comprehensive advantages in biopharmaceutical development, supported by industrial resources, to create a biopharmaceutical innovation investment platform based in Shanghai and Hong Kong, connecting the Yangtze River Delta region, and operating on a global scale.
Shanghai Healthcare Capital aims to help position Shanghai as a leading domestic and internationally recognized innovation hub for the biopharmaceutical industry, establishing the city as a globally leading center for biopharmaceutical innovation and research as well as an internationally renowned high-end manufacturing hub.
The fund's investment strategy combines financial capital with industrial resources, as well as domestic and international operations, focusing primarily on high-end biologics, innovative chemical drugs and formulations, advanced medical devices and diagnostics, and innovative business models within the healthcare sector.
