Imperative Care Launches FDA-Cleared Zoom 7X Catheter to Advance Stroke Treatment
Imperative Care has received FDA 510(k) clearance and announced first patient cases for its Zoom 7X Catheter, the latest addition to its Zoom Stroke System. Engineered for aspiration thrombectomy, Zoom 7X introduces CenTRX™ Technology—a proprietary 96-degree pre-shaped, asymmetric tip that centers itself in the vessel to maximize clot ingestion and navigate complex vascular anatomy.
Designed in response to physician feedback, Zoom 7X aims to improve procedural speed, safety, and efficiency. The catheter enhances the benefits of asymmetric aspiration and is compatible with the company’s broader stroke care platform, including the recently introduced Continuous Dual Aspiration Technique (CDAT) using Zoom DuoPort.
Early adopters have reported promising clinical advantages. Dr. Jacob Cherian of the University of Maryland noted improved catheter self-orientation and procedural streamlining. Dr. Keith Woodward from Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center added that the tip’s configuration could reduce reliance on additional devices and cut procedure times, especially in anatomically challenging cases.
With Zoom 7X, Imperative Care continues to push innovation in endovascular stroke intervention, aiming to make rapid, complete clot removal the new standard.
