Description
In July 2020, Smith+Nephew announced the launch of its new generation handheld robotics platform, the CORI Surgical System, its latest technology features image-free smart mapping to build 3D models of the joint in surgery (without the need for CT/MRI scans), real-time planning for personalized surgery, handheld precision milling and intra-operative gap balancing.
Designed to be portable with a small OR footprint, the CORI Surgical System uses Real Intelligence software to offer broad capabilities and an expanding range of joint reconstruction indications.

“If you are suffering from arthritic knee pain, CORI robotic surgery has become a game-changer. Robotic knee replacement surgery has become easier, quicker and better for the patient and the OR team. Bone preservation is now possible and functional results are much improved. We can now match the knee to the patient in ways that were not possible even five years ago.”

“The CORI Surgical System is truly next generation robotics. Its efficient handheld form factor is ideal for surgery centers, which is where the market is moving, and it just erases away bone with the new bone milling technique. The smart, intuitive software helps place and size the implant as well as balance gaps based on patient specific anatomy and disease state.”
