Description
Mako 4, the latest advancement in SmartRobotics™ and the fourth generation Mako System, is a single system that delivers more – more capabilities and more applications – and is designed to offer a premium clinical and operational experience when compared to manual surgery across Mako Total Hip, Total Knee, Partial Knee, Spine and Shoulder.
Designed by Stryker, Mako SmartRobotics™ enables orthopedic surgeons to tailor procedures to patients’ unique anatomical characteristics. This system leverages CT-based planning to build a 3D model of the joint and AccuStop™ haptic technology that allow surgeons to define virtual boundaries and control the cutting tool without guides, essentially cutting less. This in turn provides superior outcomes with reduced pain and faster recovery times.

“With the Mako 4 SmartRobotics™, I can utilize a CT scan to create a personalized surgical plan based on each patient’s unique anatomy before entering the operating room. During surgery, I can make any necessary adjustments while guiding the robotic arm to execute the intended surgical plan with UHC’s newest Mako 4. It’s exciting to be able to offer this transformative technology across the joint replacement service line.”
