This limitation poses significant challenges in complex scenarios such as intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis, flow diverter implantation, and acute ischemic stroke thrombectomy, where information about plaque composition, stent apposition, and vessel dissection is critical. This “lumen-only” blind spot is a key contributor to high rates of post-procedural restenosis and recurrence. While IVUS is well-established in coronary intervention with a Class IA recommendation for complex PCI, no mature cerebrovascular IVUS product exists.

CHN-WIN Health’s Neuro-IVUS system addresses this gap by introducing miniaturized IVUS technology to the intracranial vasculature. The system is designed to provide detailed vessel wall information beyond traditional lumen imaging, enabling quantitative assessment of plaque characteristics, stent apposition, and procedural outcomes. The company has developed an ultra-miniature single-crystal piezoelectric composite transducer measuring 0.42mm x 0.53mm with a center frequency of 50MHz and axial resolution exceeding 50μm, allowing the catheter to navigate through the Circle of Willis and main intracranial arteries. An AI-powered algorithm suite supports automated plaque classification, stenosis measurement, and real-time stent apposition assessment, providing quantifiable diagnostic data to reduce the learning curve and improve procedural consistency.

Founded in March 2025, Suzhou-based CHN-WIN Health is building an integrated platform combining “clinical + R&D + product” and “AI + device + instrument” capabilities. The company leverages clinical resources from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, alongside research capabilities from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering.

The coronary IVUS market has demonstrated the clinical and commercial value of intravascular imaging, with penetration rates exceeding 30% in China and over 90% in Japan and the U.S. CHN-WIN Health estimates that during a three-year market window, the Neuro-IVUS catheter consumables alone could support a market size of RMB 4-6 billion. The financing round positions the company to build a broader ultrasound brain science application matrix. Near-term priorities include AI-assisted diagnostic software, NMPA registration, and intraoperative 3D reconstruction and navigation modules. Mid-term, the company plans to develop dual-frequency and multi-element therapeutic transducers for ultrasound thrombolysis and neuromodulation. Longer-term, the company aims to explore ultrasound-photoacoustic fusion imaging for functional and metabolic assessment of cerebral vasculature.

CHN-WIN Health is led by a team with extensive experience in the neurointerventional device industry. The company views Neuro-IVUS as the foundation for a broader “AI + device + instrument” product matrix, and its investors note that the company’s systematic breakthroughs in ultra-miniature transducers, steerable catheters, and AI algorithms have positioned it as a first-mover in the global neurovascular imaging space.

CHN-WIN Health has secured a Series A financing round led by Efung Zhuohua Fund to advance its first-in-class Neuro-IVUS system for cerebrovascular intervention through clinical trials and NMPA regulatory submission, addressing a critical gap in intracranial imaging.

[5,676,10
453,594,655
post-41411","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-asia-pacific","category-imaging-diagnostics","category-strategic-development","tag-china","tag-financing","tag-ultrasound
["GET
