Dexcom to Establish New Facility for Real-time CGM Sensors in Ireland

Dexcom has officially broken ground on its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Athenry, Co Galway, Ireland, which will have the capacity to produce millions of real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) sensors each year.

With its first manufacturing facility in Europe, Dexcom will ensure product flow throughout EMEA, with the potential to reduce costs and improve sustainability by reducing transit time. Dexcom intends to develop strong links with local universities in Galway and surrounding counties, particularly in the areas of engineering and quality assurance.

As one of the largest single private sector investments ever made in the West of Ireland, the new facility will bring over 1,000 jobs to the area, including finance, HR and a range of engineering roles, from senior management to graduate positions.

This facility is strategically located in Europe, for Europe, and demonstrates our commitment to sustainable growth and operational excellence in EMEA,” said Alex Moussa, SVP & General Manager EMEA and LATAM at Dexcom.
