ShiraTronics, a Minneapolis, MN-based pioneering medical device company developing neurostimulation therapies for chronic migraines, has raised $66 million in an oversubscribed Series B round. Led by Norwest Venture Partners and joined by Seroba, OSF Ventures, and other investors, this funding will accelerate ShiraTronics’ pivotal trial for its Migraine Therapy System, a minimally invasive implant designed to help patients resistant to current migraine treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chronic migraine affects millions worldwide, and existing therapies often fall short, leaving patients to endure debilitating symptoms. ShiraTronics’ device delivers electrical pulses to targeted nerves in the head, aiming to reduce migraine frequency and severity. “Our pilot study shows great potential for improving patients’ quality of life,” said Rob Binney, CEO of ShiraTronics. The funds will also support the company\u2019s efforts to seek FDA premarket approval and the subsequent commercial launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
