Huawei and Nanfang Hospital Launch Global Smart Healthcare Showcase and HAIC Joint Solution

Huawei has officially released the Nanfang Hospital Global Smart Healthcare Showcase and its Healthcare AI Copilot (HAIC) joint solution at the Healthcare Summit during HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai. The showcase is designed to serve as a global benchmark for smart healthcare, demonstrating a replicable pathway for healthcare institutions pursuing digital and intelligent transformation.
The showcase is built on the Hospital AI Platform (HAIP), which integrates computing power, data, and model resources, and includes the “Nanyi Xiaozhi” agent center. It covers four core domains — clinical care, education, research, and management — and features multiple AI applications intended to provide a comprehensive smart healthcare framework. Huawei Vice President and CEO of the Public Sector Business Unit Li Junfeng said the construction of smart healthcare is not a matter of stacking individual technologies but requires a systematic approach that builds a complete closed loop of technology, scenarios, and ecosystem. Li noted that Huawei is using the HAIP platform and HAIC joint solution to drive scaled adoption of AI across operations quality control, diagnostic support, research translation, and medical education.
The HAIC joint solution was released jointly with ecosystem partners including Shanghai Runda Medical Technology and Beijing Huimei Cloud Technology. The solution has been deployed at scale across multiple tertiary hospitals and regional medical networks in China, covering scenarios such as pathology, imaging, and general practitioner assistance, with the goal of translating the diagnostic expertise of leading hospitals into accessible digital tools for primary care physicians.
Sun Jian, President of Nanfang Hospital, shared the hospital’s experience building a “1+1+N” collaborative ecosystem with Huawei, using an institution-wide AI agent competition to address the challenge of fragmented AI applications. Other speakers included Tang Xiaoli, Deputy Director of the Institute of Medical Information at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, who noted that digital intelligence is a core driver of universal health transformation, and Du Xiao, Vice President of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, who presented results from the “Huaxi Hongyi” large model in improving diagnostic efficiency and patient services.
Wang Zheng, Vice President of Renji Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, said the hospital is using the HAIP platform to strengthen its digital foundation and integrate AI across clinical scenarios. Joan Christian Carmona Barón, CEO of Farmacéutica Medikamenta, shared a collaboration with Huawei that connected 4,200 rural clinics in Mexico within four months as part of a universal health practice. Zhang Weili, President of Huawei’s Healthcare Business Unit, said Huawei is committed to a positioning of “not replacing doctors, only empowering them,” working with ecosystem partners to bring quality healthcare services closer to the public.
