FineHeart Raises €83 Million to Advance FlowMaker and Strengthen Europe’s Implantable Device Capabilities

The French medtech company FineHeart has secured a total of €83 million in funding to support its growth and advance the development of its cardiac implant technology. This financing includes a €35 million closing of the first round of Series C funding, as well as €48 million in non-dilutive grants from the European IPCEI Tech4Cure program, marking a significant step for the clinical-stage company as it scales its development and manufacturing activities.

The Series C first closing attracted new investors, including Groupe Pasteur Mutualité, Groupe Etchart, and the European Innovation Council’s EIB fund. Existing shareholders also reaffirmed their support. According to FineHeart, the proceeds will accelerate the clinical validation and industrialization of FlowMaker, a fully implantable cardiac output accelerator designed for patients with advanced heart failure. The funding also positions FineHeart to unlock and deploy the IPCEI Tech4Cure grants in multiple phases.

Arnaud Mascarell, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of FineHeart, stated that the combined private and public financing strengthens FineHeart’s ability to develop protected technologies while contributing to Europe’s long-term healthcare and industrial autonomy. Mascarell noted that this support aligns with the company’s goal of advancing more predictive and personalized approaches to cardiovascular care while reinforcing Europe’s role in high-value medical device innovation.

As part of the IPCEI Tech4Cure initiative, FineHeart will serve as a lead partner in efforts to structure the European active implantable medical device sector. The grant-funded work will focus on core technological challenges, including reducing device size and energy consumption, as well as improving the long-term reliability of implantable systems. These advances aim to support not only FlowMaker’s development but also broader capabilities across Europe’s implantable device supply chain.

FlowMaker is designed to provide physiological cardiac support by working in sync with the heart’s natural contractions, without requiring an aortic bypass or external power connections. The system is fully implanted within the heart, recharged wirelessly through transcutaneous energy transfer, and implanted using a minimally invasive procedure. FineHeart is currently advancing the device through clinical development, with the latest funding expected to support the transition toward later-stage trials and future market readiness.
