Palo Alto, CA-based Glooko, a global leader in digital health connecting patients, healthcare providers, and biopharma partners, has announced a $100 million Series F financing round, led by Georgian, with additional participation from Health Catalyst Capital, Canaan, and other partners. This funding will drive the expansion of Glooko’s platform, which empowers healthcare providers with data insights, device integrations, and chronic disease support. In conjunction with this, the company has appointed Mike Alvarez, a veteran in chronic disease management, as the new CEO.
“With more than 537 million adults diagnosed with diabetes globally, the need for comprehensive data-driven solutions is critical,” said Simon Chong, Co-Founder of Georgian and Chairman of Glooko’s Board. “Mike Alvarez, with his deep expertise in connected care and life sciences, is the ideal leader to steer Glooko’s next growth phase.” Georgian, founded in 2008, is known for supporting high-growth B2B software companies with its AI-driven scaling solutions.
Mr. Alvarez, formerly CEO of Qardio, brings over 20 years of leadership in medical devices and biotechnology, having held roles at Medtronic, St. Jude Medical, and Sanofi. “By streamlining healthcare data from multiple devices, Glooko’s platform enables timely interventions and improved patient outcomes,” said Alvarez, who looks forward to furthering Glooko’s mission.
Glooko’s platform, used by over 4.4 million diabetes patients globally, enhances patient engagement and care management through its connected care technology.
