{"id":24307,"date":"2023-09-08T01:06:28","date_gmt":"2023-09-08T01:06:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/g-medtech.com\/news\/?p=24307"},"modified":"2025-08-28T08:10:32","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T08:10:32","slug":"gradient-denervation-technologies-closes-e14-million-series-a-financing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/g-medtech.com\/news\/it\/gradient-denervation-technologies-closes-e14-million-series-a-financing\/","title":{"rendered":"Gradient Denervation Technologies Closes \u20ac14 Million Series A Financing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paris-based Gradient Denervation Technologies announces the successful closing of a \u20ac14 million Series A financing led by Asabys Partners and followed by Thuja Capital and founding investor <a href=\"https:\/\/g-medtech.com\/database\/medtech-players\/index\/sofinnova-partners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sofinnova Partners<\/a>, to support ongoing clinical development and evaluation of the ultrasound-based catheter device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gradient was established in 2020 through a \u20ac3.5m seed financing from Sofinnova MD Start, the venture capital firm\u2019s dedicated medtech accelerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gradient is founded on cutting-edge innovation developed by the clinicians Dr. Swaminadhan Gnanashanmugam and Dr. Jeffrey Feinstein at the prestigious Stanford Biodesign Program. The company initiated a first-in-human clinical study earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gradient\u2019s novel technology aims to treat patients with pulmonary hypertension by reducing sympathetic input into the pulmonary vasculature. The company\u2019s initial focus is the Group 2 pulmonary hypertension patient population, which consists of patients with heart failure and associated high pulmonary vascular resistance. Up to 50% of heart failure patients have this debilitating condition, resulting in a large patient population with no approved therapies. Gradient\u2019s minimally invasive device, designed for use in the pulmonary arteries, harnesses therapeutic ultrasound energy to perform the denervation procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gradient Denervation Technologies has developed a minimally invasive device for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension. Gradient leverages intellectual property developed at Stanford University and has been incubated since 2020 by Sofinnova MD Start, a Paris-based medtech accelerator that actively works with clinicians and entrepreneurs to develop disruptive medical devices.
