Existing shareholder Fengnian Capital oversubscribed, and GF Securities and Caitong Capital also participated in the round. The funds will primarily advance clinical trials of visual brain-computer interface products and iterate core technologies.

Nanochap has released two visual reconstruction BCI products: the E-BCI (retinal pathway) and the V-BCI (visual cortex pathway). According to the company, the maximum number of signal acquisition and stimulation channels has increased to 1,280, and all underlying technologies, including electrodes, chips, and packaging processes, are self-developed. The retinal pathway product received its type approval report in 2024, and experiments verifying in vivo safety and effectiveness have been completed on nearly 100 large animals and primates. Human clinical trials have begun for the retinal interface product, and the visual cortex pathway product will enter prospective clinical trials this year.

Under the leadership of founder Dr. Yang Jiawei, the Nanochap team has developed a comprehensive technology platform, spanning from core integrated circuits to system algorithms. These efforts have resulted in breakthroughs, including high-density 3D electrodes, high-throughput BCI chips, ultra-precision MEMS processes, dynamic parameter control, and charge balance technology. The company has filed over 100 patent applications for its core technologies. It has also built a 2,000-square-meter Class 10,000 GMP cleanroom with an independent production line for BCI implants.

Legend Capital stated that brain-computer interfaces are at a critical stage in their transition from scientific research to clinical application and industrialization. “The Nanochap team has deep technical expertise in visual reconstruction and has achieved breakthroughs across the entire technology chain, including chips, electrodes, and algorithms.” Mr. Wang Zhuo of Fengnian Capital added, “Fengnian Capital firmly believes that brain-computer interfaces are the core technology for the next generation of human-computer interaction and medical rehabilitation. They are also a key factor in global technological competition.”

The Hangzhou-based company has completed a 300 million yuan strategic financing round to advance clinical trials of its visual brain-computer interface (BCI) products and iterate core technologies.

[488,681,10,671
802,453,594
post-39383","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-breaking-news","category-care-therapy","category-strategic-development","category-top-news","tag-bci","tag-china","tag-financing
["GET
