Amber Implants, a Netherlands-based medical technology company developing advanced solutions for spinal injury treatment, has appointed Vincent Gardès as Chief Executive Officer. The leadership change marks a pivotal step as the company prepares to shift from product development to full-scale commercialization, following the recent FDA clearance of its VCFix® Spinal System.

Gardès, who previously served as Chairman of Amber Implants’ Board for four years, brings more than three decades of experience in the MedTech sector across Europe and the United States. He has led multiple companies through growth and market expansion, including his tenure as CEO of Vexim, where he oversaw its evolution from an early-stage spinal implant developer into a profitable, publicly traded company before its acquisition by Stryker in 2017. Gardès has also held key roles at Truffle Capital, Kumovis, and Germitec, contributing to global commercialization strategies and organizational scaling.

“Amber’s VCFix® technology represents a major innovation in spinal fracture care, and I see tremendous potential as we prepare for U.S. market entry and global commercialization,” said Gardès. “I look forward to working with the talented team to bring this breakthrough solution to surgeons and patients worldwide.”

Company co-founder Dr. Banafsheh Sajadi, who previously served as CEO, will continue in her role as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director. “Vincent brings extensive commercial experience and a proven track record in scaling MedTech companies, perfectly aligning with our vision for Amber’s next phase of growth,” said Dr. Sajadi. “Together, we are committed to advancing spinal fracture treatment through innovation and expanding our global impact.”

Under Gardès’ leadership, Amber Implants aims to accelerate U.S. market entry, build strategic partnerships, and scale production to meet growing international demand. The company’s VCFix® Spinal System, now cleared by the FDA, is designed to improve outcomes for patients with vertebral compression fractures. With additional pipeline programs, including the Spinoza Fixation System, and robust patent protection, Amber Implants plans to establish itself as a key player in the €2 billion global spinal fracture market by 2029.
