Mendaera Closes $73M Series B Financing to Scale Robotics and AI Across Mainstream Medical Procedures

Silicon Valley-based Mendaera has closed a $73 million Series B financing round led by Threshold Ventures, with participation from Lux Capital, PFM Health Sciences, and industry pioneer Fred Moll. The funding will support Mendaera’s mission to expand the use of robotics and AI in routine medical procedures such as biopsies and organ access, addressing healthcare challenges related to staff shortages and rising costs.
Mendaera is revolutionizing the “messy middle” of healthcare by creating a handheld robotic platform that combines robotics, AI, real-time imaging, and virtual connectivity. This platform is designed to be used across various specialties, enabling healthcare providers to streamline needle-based interventions and improve patient care for common but crucial procedures. The company’s technology aims to reduce procedural bottlenecks, improve access to high-quality care, and enhance systemwide efficiency.
With this new capital, Mendaera will complete the development of its platform, accelerate its AI capabilities, and begin clinical introduction. The company’s recent acquisition of telepresence technology from Avail Medsystems and a commercial agreement with Butterfly Network signal its commitment to advancing healthcare robotics and digital connectivity on a global scale.
