Neusoft Medical Launches World’s First Pediatric Dedicated PET/CT with 170ps TOF Resolution

At the 93rd China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF), Neusoft Medical unveiled the NeuEdge: the world’s first paediatric-dedicated, fully digital PET/CT system with 170 ps-level time-of-flight (TOF) resolution. As a flagship product, NeuEdge embodies over a decade of Neusoft Medical’s expertise in molecular imaging and its comprehensive independent R&D capabilities. Achieving breakthrough performance enhancements across multiple core technologies fills a global void in ultra-high-end paediatric PET/CT, offering a brand-new solution for low-dose, high-speed scanning, high-definition tumour imaging, and precision diagnosis and treatment in children. This launch also represents a significant milestone for Chinese-made high-end nuclear medicine equipment on the global stage.
The NeuEdge PET/CT represents Neusoft Medical’s core product in its ultra-high-end medical imaging portfolio. In terms of core components, Neusoft Medical has developed a proprietary 64-channel high-integration ASIC 2.0 chip, which combines low power consumption, a compact footprint, and high performance. Paired with a dedicated water-cooling system, it reduces detector thermal drift by 90% and supports 200 cm axial expansion without joints, achieving 100% self-sufficiency in core components. For image clarity, the system features a 1024×1024 dual-wide matrix, delivering a visible resolution of 0.6 mm to capture tiny lesions with exceptional definition, significantly reducing the risks of misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. Furthermore, the NeuEdge integrates a full-field AI nuclear medicine platform with AI-TRIO deep learning reconstruction technology. Leveraging the advantages of 170ps TOF, the system improves the signal-to-noise ratio by 7.6 times, enables a total-body scan in just 60 seconds, and reduces the radiotracer dose to as low as 0.03 mCi/kg — balancing diagnostic efficiency with maximum safety for pediatric patients.
