NVision Raises $55M, Expanding from Quantum Sensing to Quantum Computing

NVision, a German quantum technology company focused on healthcare, has announced a $55 million Series B financing round led by Abbott and unveiled its expansion from quantum sensing into quantum computing with a new platform called Photonic Integrated Quantum Circuits (PIQC), aiming to build an end-to-end quantum-based approach for designing and validating therapies.
The Series B round includes a $17 million venture loan from the European Investment Bank. Abbott joins as the sole strategic investor in diagnostics, gaining early access to emerging capabilities in quantum sensing and computing to evaluate future applications in disease detection, monitoring, and clinical decision-making. Other participants include Playground Global, Matterwave Ventures, b2ventures, and Entrée Capital. The new funding brings NVision’s total capital raised to $120 million.
The company’s existing quantum-enhanced sensing platform, POLARIS, uses quantum technology to amplify the MRI signal of sugar-based imaging agents, enabling real-time measurement of metabolism on standard MRI systems. This allows researchers to assess treatment response within hours or days based on disease biology, rather than waiting months for traditional imaging that detects changes in tissue structure. POLARIS systems are already being installed at leading cancer centers worldwide, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the University of Cambridge, and the Technical University of Munich, and are expected to be deployed in approximately 20 centers across the U.S., Europe, and Asia by the end of the year.
While developing its MRI signal enhancement technology, NVision discovered a new class of organic molecule-based qubits. The company is now extending its platform into quantum computing by integrating these qubits as a thin organic layer directly onto photonic chips. This architecture is designed for scalability using standard semiconductor manufacturing technologies. NVision said this approach will enable quantum computing to design more effective drug candidates, including for previously inaccessible targets, while POLARIS will rapidly validate them in real biological environments, creating a unified “compute and validate” approach.
Sella Brosh, CEO and Co-Founder of NVision, said he sees a future where quantum computers generate a large number of drug hypotheses for diseases that are difficult to treat today. He noted that expanding into quantum computing brings that future closer, but that translational speed remains essential, which is why POLARIS enables rapid in-vivo validation to close the loop between design and reality. Peter Barrett, General Partner at Playground Global, said NVision is fundamentally changing how we find, diagnose, and treat cancer by making disease biology visible in new ways, adding that the same molecular quantum capability now enables both the design and testing of new therapies.
