ScreenPoint Medical Raises $16 Million to Advance Transpara Breast AI

The Netherlands-based ScreenPoint Medical has raised $16 million in new funding, including $14 million from existing investors Insight Partners and Siemens Healthineers, as well as an additional $2 million in non-dilutive research grants. This investment reflects the company’s long-term partners’ continued support and follows its growing commercial success in the United States and abroad. ScreenPoint’s Transpara breast AI solutions are currently used in more than thirty countries and have processed over twelve million mammograms to date.
The funding announcement coincides with a series of peer-reviewed studies that validate the company’s technology. The first randomized controlled trial in breast cancer AI, known as MASAI, was published in The Lancet. The trial found consistently favorable outcomes compared with standard double reading, including significant impacts on cancer detection and workload reduction. Separate prospective research on autonomous AI, published in Nature Medicine, demonstrated that Transpara can safely reduce screening mammography workload by up to 63.6 percent by excluding low-risk mammograms from radiologist readings. Another study in npj Digital Medicine revealed that ScreenPoint’s image-based breast cancer risk algorithm outperformed competing solutions, such as Mirai, iCAD, and Google, in predicting five-year risk. Notably, the algorithm predicted 41.8 percent of all future cancers and 50.3 percent of interval cancers within the top 14 percent of risk scores.
“This investment endorses our strategy and our shared success,” said Pieter Kroese, CEO of ScreenPoint Medical. “We are well-positioned to scale globally and accelerate the development of solutions that make care personal and powerful.” Dr. Robert Epstein, Health Care Senior Advisor at Insight Partners, noted that ScreenPoint Medical continues to lead and innovate in applying AI to breast imaging, and that the opportunity to create a greater level of personalized care is vast and clinically impactful. Alexandra Krumbügel, Head of Product Line Women’s Health at Siemens Healthineers, added that the continued investment reflects a strong conviction that AI will play a defining role in the future of breast imaging. The funding will support continued product innovation, international expansion, and strategic initiatives.
