Western Canada’s First GE Omni Legend PET/CT System Installed by INITIO Medical Group to Enhance Cancer Care

INITIO Medical Group has introduced the first GE HealthCare Omni Legend PET/CT system with cardiac capabilities in Western Canada, marking a significant advancement in cancer diagnosis and treatment for British Columbia and beyond. This installation not only enhances regional diagnostic capabilities but also introduces a highly sensitive technology that surpasses previous models, offering faster scan times and improved detection of small lesions.

This system is only the sixth PET/CT scanner across British Columbia, reflecting INITIO Medical Group’s leadership in nuclear medicine and theranostics. Nuclear medicine utilizes minimal radioactive materials for disease diagnosis and treatment, providing precise tumor visualization crucial in oncology. Meanwhile, theranostics combines diagnostic imaging with targeted therapy to personalize treatment, optimizing efficacy and minimizing adverse effects, thus potentially improving patient outcomes during cancer treatment.
