The round was led by Double Point Ventures with participation from existing investors ARCH Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Bezos Expeditions, NTI, and METIS, as well as new backers including the Australian National Reconstruction Fund, T.Rx Capital, Qatar Investment Authority, K5 Global, Protocol Labs, and IQT. This latest funding brings Synchron\u2019s total capital raised to $345 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Stentrode platform is the world\u2019s first endovascular BCI, designed to capture brain signals and translate them into digital commands without requiring open-brain surgery. Delivered through a minimally invasive catheter-based procedure, the implant interfaces with the motor cortex via blood vessels and transmits neural data wirelessly, enabling individuals with paralysis to control digital devices hands-free. To date, the system has been implanted in ten patients across clinical trials in the U.S. and Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Synchron was also the first BCI company to collaborate with Apple to integrate brain activity into its operating system. The company co-developed a Bluetooth-based iOS protocol that connects neural signals directly to Apple devices via Switch Control, allowing users to navigate iPhones, iPads, and Vision Pro without physical movement, speech, or eye tracking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve built the first non-surgical brain-computer interface designed for everyday life for people with paralysis,\u201d said Tom Oxley, CEO and Founder of Synchron. \u201cThis funding brings us closer to commercializing the Stentrode BCI platform while advancing development of a next-generation, transcatheter high-channel whole-brain interface.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new financing will also support the expansion of Synchron\u2019s Cognitive AI division in New York, where researchers are developing models capable of decoding thought in real time. Meanwhile, the company\u2019s new San Diego engineering hub will focus on building advanced hardware for future iterations of the BCI system. Campbell Murray, MD, Managing Partner at Double Point Ventures, described the technology as \u201cthe first truly scalable, minimally invasive brain-computer interface that can be deployed in everyday healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this investment, Synchron plans to accelerate pivotal clinical trials and prepare for the commercial launch of the Stentrode\u2122 system.
