The California-based company develops devices for vascular embolization and plans to use the funding to expand its commercial presence and progress clinical programs focused on peripheral vessel occlusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company said the investment will also support ongoing development of its device portfolio, including technologies aimed at improving procedural options for patients with vascular disease. Alongside the new funding, Okami announced leadership changes intended to strengthen its strategic direction as it scales operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drew Hykes, former CEO of Inari Medical, has been appointed president and CEO. Bill Hoffman will serve as chairman of the board. Commenting on his appointment, Hykes said, \u201cI\u2019m honored to join the Okami team and have been deeply impressed by the clinical performance and versatility of the LOBO vascular occluder across a wide range of anatomies.\u201d He added that he looks forward to advancing the company\u2019s commercial expansion and innovation pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the financing, Gilde Healthcare\u2019s Geoff Pardo and Susana Amorim have joined the board of directors. Pardo said Gilde has followed the company\u2019s progress closely. \u201cWe have been impressed by the strength of its technology and the scale of its market opportunity,\u201d he said.
