The system is being developed as a portable unit that can be moved directly into the operating room, addressing one of the main barriers to adopting robotics in orthopedics.

Shoulder Innovations plans to use this platform to mitigate long-standing challenges associated with robotic surgery, including high costs, limited mobility, and complex training requirements. The company expects that surgeons and facilities will benefit from a solution that offers consistent workflows, simplified operations, and the flexibility to make real-time adjustments during procedures.

Rob Ball, CEO of Shoulder Innovations, said the partnership reflects the company’s momentum in the market. “Our team has helped deliver some of the most transformative advances in shoulder arthroplasty, and we are applying that experience and capital raised through our recent IPO to introduce a finely tuned enabling technology platform for shoulder surgical care,” he said.
