The funding, which includes $19 million from private investors and $1 million in non-dilutive funding from the State of Maryland, will support regulatory preparation, manufacturing scale-up, and product testing as the company moves toward future commercialization. Following a $20 million Series A round completed in 2022, CraniUS has raised a total of approximately $40 million in capital and expects the new funding to support operations through 2027.

NeuroPASS is being developed as a multi-product platform designed to bypass the blood-brain barrier, a long-standing obstacle in the treatment of neurological diseases. The company’s initial roadmap includes three complementary products aimed at expanding therapeutic and monitoring capabilities over time. Together, these devices are designed to transition cranial implants from passive reconstruction to active, long-term therapeutic interfaces suitable for outpatient care.

“This is not an incremental advance—it represents a fundamentally new approach to treating neurological diseases and brain cancer,” said Dr. Chad Gordon, CraniUS Therapeutics’ founder and executive chair, as well as a Johns Hopkins–trained neuroplastic surgeon. His clinical experience highlighted the limitations of existing therapies in reaching brain tissue. “We set out to build a platform that could help address a therapeutic barrier that has limited care for decades.”

CraniUS holds 15 issued U.S. patents supporting its platform and broader product roadmap, along with multiple international patent filings. “The blood-brain barrier has resisted decades of pharmaceutical and device development. NeuroPASS represents the kind of rethinking required to change how we access and treat the brain,” said Dr. Stephen Klasko, a member of the company’s board of directors.

CraniUS Therapeutics has closed a $20 million Series B financing round to advance development of NeuroPASS, a fully implantable platform designed to bypass the blood-brain barrier and support targeted brain therapies.

[7,488,681,10
594
post-38476","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-americas","category-breaking-news","category-care-therapy","category-strategic-development","tag-financing
["GET
