The announcement was made by the Honourable M\u00e9lanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investment will support a major expansion of Kardium&#8217;s cleanroom facility in Vancouver, providing the infrastructure needed to support the company&#8217;s growth and enable scaling of manufacturing for the Globe System while retaining critical intellectual property, expertise, and high-value jobs in Canada. The Globe System received regulatory approval from Health Canada in July 2026 and from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Globe System is an integrated cardiac mapping and ablation system designed to advance the treatment of atrial fibrillation, the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia. It combines high-density mapping and pulsed field ablation in a single catheter, providing physicians with real-time information to guide catheter positioning, assess tissue contact, and deliver targeted treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Honourable M\u00e9lanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, said British Columbia is emerging as a global hub for medical innovation, home to companies like Kardium that are developing new technologies with the potential to improve lives around the world. Joly noted that by supporting Kardium&#8217;s expansion, the Government of Canada is strengthening the country&#8217;s advanced manufacturing capacity, creating high-value jobs, and ensuring British Columbia remains at the forefront of innovation in the medical sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kevin Chaplin, Chief Executive Officer of Kardium, said the company is proud to be developing and manufacturing its innovative medical technology in British Columbia.
