Philips Teams Up with Epic to Streamline Cardiac Monitoring via EHR Integration
Royal Philips has announced a strategic collaboration with Epic to integrate its comprehensive suite of ambulatory cardiac monitoring and diagnostic services into Aura, Epic’s specialty diagnostics platform. This partnership makes Philips the largest cardiac care provider to connect with Aura, setting a new benchmark for EHR-integrated cardiac diagnostics.
By embedding Philips’ remote ECG monitoring tools directly into Epic’s ecosystem, providers can now order and review cardiac diagnostic tests within the EHR—eliminating manual data entry and simplifying clinical workflows. This level of interoperability is designed to support faster, more informed decision-making in cardiac care, benefiting both clinicians and patients.
“Through this integration, we’re enhancing diagnostic accuracy while freeing up time for care teams to focus on patients,” said Stefano Folli, Business Leader for Ambulatory Monitoring & Diagnostics at Philips. “Our goal is to support more efficient, streamlined cardiac care through seamless data exchange.”
The collaboration also aims to reduce the burden of routine administrative tasks by automating patient onboarding, notifications, and documentation processes. These capabilities are especially critical in outpatient settings where cardiology teams are managing increasing volumes of patients and data.
Epic’s Vice President of Cardiology and Imaging Diagnostics, Leah Johnson, highlighted the clinical value: “This collaboration ensures that cardiac diagnostic data is captured in real time and made available within the patient’s health record, allowing earlier evaluation—even before a cardiologist visit.”
Philips’ ambulatory monitoring portfolio includes flexible remote ECG solutions and enterprise-scale ECG management tools, designed to improve early detection and long-term management of cardiac conditions. The partnership with Epic represents a step forward in enabling timely, data-driven care delivery across a range of healthcare settings.
