Gore Medical Enhances Vascular Treatment Options with CE Mark for Lower Profile VBX Stent Graft

W. L. Gore & Associates has received CE Mark approval for its GORE® VIABAHN® VBX Balloon Expandable Endoprosthesis, which now features a reduced profile compatible with a 6 Fr sheath, enhancing treatment options for patients with complex vascular disease.
The newly approved VBX Stent Graft, renowned for offering the broadest range of diameters and lengths on the market, maintains its design integrity while its delivery system has been enhanced to reduce its profile without altering its performance. This advancement allows for the treatment of complex cases using smaller devices, potentially reducing complications and improving procedural efficiency.
Prof. Michele Antonello from the University of Padua highlighted the device’s improved flexibility and accuracy, noting its significant impact on treating complex vascular conditions with greater ease. Meanwhile, Dr. Ash Patel of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital in London emphasized the device’s proven outcomes and broad applicability, supported by recent long-term data and ongoing studies comparing its effectiveness to bare metal stents in treating iliac occlusive disease.
Jill Paine, Leader of Gore’s Peripheral Business, expressed commitment to continuous innovation and collaboration with medical professionals to address critical patient needs. The lower profile VBX Stent Graft is set to enhance treatment capabilities across Europe in the coming months.
