Genesis MedTech Sells JC Medical to Edwards Lifesciences

Genesis MedTech has sold JC Medical to Edwards Lifesciences, including the intellectual property and commercial rights to the J-Valve® System, a transcatheter aortic valve replacement device for the treatment of severe aortic regurgitation. The transaction includes an upfront payment and potential sales-based contingent milestones.

Genesis MedTech retains exclusive rights to develop, manufacture and commercialise the J-Valve® System in Greater China. In August 2023, JC Medical’s J-Valve® transfemoral system received Breakthrough Device Designation from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

In addition, Edwards made a $25 million equity investment in Genesis MedTech to support product and market development. JC Medical, acquired by Genesis MedTech in February 2022, is a structural heart company primarily engaged in the design and development of transcatheter valve replacement products for the minimally invasive treatment of structural heart disease.
