RefleXion X1 Platform Delivers First Patient Treatment at Beverly Hills Cancer Center

RefleXion, a CA-based company specializing in external-beam, theranostic oncology systems, announced that Beverly Hills Cancer Center has treated its first patient using the RefleXion X1 platform. This milestone marks the expansion of the X1’s clinical use into freestanding cancer centers, extending access to both biology-guided SCINTIX® radiotherapy and traditional image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT).

The X1 system combines two modalities—conventional IGRT and SCINTIX therapy—allowing clinicians to target solid tumors with greater precision. SCINTIX technology uses biological signals from cancer cells to guide radiation delivery in real time. Patients receive a PET tracer injection, and the emitted signals are detected by the X1 system to dynamically adjust radiation to active tumor sites.

According to Dr. Ari Gabayan, Medical Director at Beverly Hills Cancer Center, the technology enables treatment for all stages of solid tumors and represents a major step forward in precision oncology. Todd Powell, RefleXion’s President and CEO, highlighted that this installation demonstrates the versatility of the platform and its growing adoption by both hospital-based and independent cancer centers.

The announcement follows promising clinical data from RefleXion’s PREMIER registry, a multi-institutional study presented at the 2025 ASTRO Annual Meeting. Results showed 100% local tumor control up to nine months post-treatment and no Grade 2 or higher adverse events among 31 patients treated for lung and bone metastases. The findings represent early clinical validation for SCINTIX therapy and its potential to redefine radiation oncology for metastatic disease.
