Laborie Appoints Chris Smith as CEO
Laborie Medical Technologies has announced the appointment of Chris Smith as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 22, 2025. Smith takes over from Michael Frazzette, who recently retired. With more than 30 years of leadership experience in healthcare and medical technology, Smith brings a wealth of expertise from his previous roles as CEO at NeoGenomics Laboratories, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, and Cochlear Limited. He has a history of driving innovation and growth across various sectors and has also held numerous board positions in both public and private companies.
David Perez, Chair of Laborie’s Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for Frazzette’s contributions and welcomed Smith, noting his extensive experience as a strategic asset for the company’s future. Yuriy Prilutskiy, Co-Head of Patricia Industries, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the company’s continued growth under Frazzette’s leadership and expressing confidence in Smith’s ability to build on this momentum.
Smith, who has been serving on Laborie’s Board of Directors since 2023, is already familiar with the company’s mission and operations, making for a smooth transition. In his new role, Smith is committed to driving innovation across the company’s core platforms: urology, gastroenterology, and obstetrics. Laborie will be hosting welcome sessions for Smith in the coming weeks to introduce him to employees and partners across its global network.
