Amplitude Vascular Systems (AVS) has successfully closed a $36 million Series B financing round. The funds will support the U.S. peripheral commercial launch and advance U.S. coronary and carotid IDE trials for its innovative Pulse Intravascular Lithotripsy™ (PIVL™) device.

AVS, a leader in treating severely calcified arterial disease with its novel PULSE IVL™ platform, initiated patient enrollment in October 2024 for the POWER PAD II U.S. IDE trial. This prospective, single-arm, multi-center study is assessing the PULSE IVL™ System’s effectiveness in treating patients with calcific femoropopliteal arteries. The trial aims to enroll up to 120 patients across 20 U.S. sites, with completion expected by mid-2025.

The funding will also bolster AVS’s coronary U.S. IDE study and a U.S. carotid IDE trial in collaboration with the Jacobs Institute in Buffalo, NY.

Mark Toland, Chairman of the Board for AVS, commented on the financing: “We are thrilled by the continued strong investor enthusiasm for our technology. Intravascular lithotripsy is becoming a crucial therapy for patients with severely calcified arterial disease. This round of investment reflects our rapid progress on key milestones in 2024, including the start of our U.S. peripheral IDE trial. The support from our partners at BioStar Capital and Cue Growth Partners underscores our significant strides toward commercial approval in the IVL sector.”
