GE HealthCare Appoints Ivan Martinez as Chief Strategy Officer

GE HealthCare has appointed Ivan Martinez as Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for driving the company’s long-term growth and strategic initiatives. Martinez joins from Abbott Laboratories in Chicago, where he spent eight years in senior roles spanning strategy, digital innovation, licensing, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
Originally from Spain, Martinez has more than two decades of experience in health sciences, technology, and consulting. His career includes senior leadership positions at Brillio in California, where he oversaw product, strategy, and digital business services, and nearly a decade at McKinsey & Company in Chicago, where he co-founded Periscope, a digital business later scaled into a SaaS offering. Earlier roles included positions at Cargill, Accenture, and PricewaterhouseCoopers across Europe.
Martinez holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
GE HealthCare’s President and CEO, Peter J. Arduini, noted that Martinez’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as the company advances its growth strategy, emphasizing his role in shaping partnerships and initiatives to support the company’s vision of expanding access to innovative healthcare solutions worldwide.
