Qure.ai has appointed Dr. Javier J. Zulueta as Chief Medical Officer for Pulmonology, a role that will align his clinical expertise with the company’s AI-driven lung health portfolio. Dr. Zulueta, previously a professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and chief of the pulmonary division at Mount Sinai Morningside, will guide the development and clinical rollout of Qure.ai’s Lung Cancer Suite in the U.S. and Europe.

Founder and CEO Prashant Warier said Dr. Zulueta’s experience in lung cancer screening and management will accelerate the company’s growth strategy and ability to scale deployments across health systems. Zulueta noted that AI has the potential to transform early detection, turning incidental findings into lifesaving interventions and reshaping the survival curve within a generation.

With more than three decades of experience, Dr. Zulueta previously established Spain’s first lung cancer screening program at Clinica Universidad de Navarra and served as a principal investigator for the International Early Lung Cancer Action Program. His appointment follows Qure.ai’s expansion in the U.S., including new commercial leadership earlier this year. The company, named to the TIME100 Most Influential Companies of 2025, currently operates in over 100 countries with 18 FDA-cleared findings.
