ViCentra Secures $85M to Advance Manufacturing and U.S. Expansion of Kaleido Insulin Patch Pump

ViCentra, a Netherlands-based diabetes technology company, has closed an $85 million Series D financing round led by Innovation Industries, with participation from existing backers Partners in Equity and Invest-NL, as well as continued support from EQT Life Sciences and Health Innovations. The funding will accelerate manufacturing of Kaleido, a small and lightweight insulin patch pump, support European commercialization of the next-generation Kaleido 2, and advance U.S. regulatory and market entry plans.

Kaleido is positioned as a lifestyle-oriented device, designed to combine discreet use with clinical precision. The system integrates with Diabeloop’s automated insulin delivery algorithm and the Dexcom continuous glucose monitoring platform, offering users a streamlined approach to diabetes management. Strong adoption in Germany, France, and the Netherlands has driven demand beyond early projections, prompting ViCentra to expand capacity and commercial reach.

The investment highlights growing interest in the patch pump segment, which is expected to see rapid growth within the broader insulin delivery market, projected to surpass $14 billion by 2034. With its emphasis on user experience and compact design, ViCentra aims to differentiate Kaleido from traditional pump systems and broaden access to wearable solutions for diabetes care.

The company will present its latest developments at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes annual meeting in Vienna later this month, engaging with clinicians, investors, and potential partners as it continues to scale operations.
