Viz.ai Names Dr. Andrew M. Ibrahim as Chief Clinical Officer to Guide AI Healthcare Strategy

AI-powered disease detection company Viz.ai announced the appointment of Dr. Andrew M. Ibrahim as Chief Clinical Officer. Dr. Ibrahim, a surgeon and healthcare innovation leader, will oversee the company’s clinical strategy and advance the use of generative AI in healthcare delivery. He will report directly to CEO and co-founder Dr. Chris Mansi.

Dr. Ibrahim is the George D. Zuidema Professor at the University of Michigan, where he practices general surgery and conducts research on healthcare delivery. He is widely recognized for his work on scientific communication, having pioneered the “Visual Abstract” concept adopted by more than 100 medical journals. He has published over 200 scientific papers and has led major research funded by U.S. federal agencies.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Ibrahim has advised on large-scale healthcare and life sciences design projects as Chief Medical Officer at HOK. He has also been invited to testify before Congress on AI regulation and reimbursement. His new role at Viz.ai will focus on ensuring the company’s AI-powered platform continues to expand across neurology, cardiology, and oncology, where it already screens millions of patients to support faster diagnosis and more efficient care coordination.
