Cleveland Clinic and Khosla Ventures Collaborate to Advance HealthTech Innovation

Cleveland Clinic and Khosla Ventures have formed a strategic collaboration that connects one of the world’s best-known academic health systems with a leading Silicon Valley investor in technology-driven healthcare innovation. The partnership aims to accelerate how new tools are tested, refined, and introduced into clinical practice, particularly in fast-moving areas such as artificial intelligence, digital health platforms, and next-generation therapeutics.

Under the agreement, companies backed by Khosla Ventures will be able to work directly with Cleveland Clinic clinicians to validate early-stage technologies and assess their real-world impact on care delivery. The health system will in turn gain early access to novel technologies that could help address complex operational or clinical challenges across multiple specialties.

Geoff Vince, PhD, Chief of Cleveland Clinic Innovations, said the collaboration brings complementary strengths together to shape future care models. “This collaboration pairs our health system’s expertise in biomedical research, clinical care and innovation with Khosla Ventures’ venture expertise and network of entrepreneurs to drive meaningful advancements in the healthcare industry,” he said.

Several portfolio companies have already entered commercial agreements with Cleveland Clinic, and the two organizations are considering multiple co-development opportunities, including the potential joint incubation of a new company. The collaboration was announced during the Cleveland Clinic Life Sciences Summit in London and will be supported by Cleveland Clinic Innovations, the system’s commercialization arm, which has a long track record of translating in-house research into market-ready technologies.
