QIAGEN, a Netherlands-based global leader in Sample to Insight solutions that enable customers to extract and analyze molecular information from biological samples containing the building blocks of life, has announced the appointment of Jonathan M. Pratt as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026. Pratt succeeds Thierry Bernard, who will step down and support an orderly transition through the end of the year. The appointment follows a comprehensive search process, with Pratt selected for his global industry knowledge, international leadership experience, and proven track record of improving performance across global businesses.

Pratt brings more than 25 years of international leadership experience across life sciences, laboratory technologies, and healthcare. He most recently served as President and CEO of Filtration Group, leading the business through the completion of its sale to Parker-Hannifin Corporation in August 2026. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of the Waters Division at Waters Corporation and as President of Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a Danaher operating company, and held senior leadership positions at Pall Corporation. His experience spans analytical instruments, laboratory technologies, software, consumables, services, and bioprocessing applications.

Stephen H. Rusckowski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of QIAGEN, said the Supervisory Board unanimously concluded that Pratt is the right leader for QIAGEN’s next phase. Rusckowski noted that Pratt combines deep knowledge of QIAGEN’s markets with a strong international record of strengthening commercial execution and operational performance, and that his experience across life sciences and laboratory technologies is directly relevant to QIAGEN’s portfolio and customers. Rusckowski added that building on the company’s strong foundation, the board is confident Pratt will advance QIAGEN’s commitment to solid profitable growth, and thanked Bernard for his leadership and contributions to QIAGEN.

Pratt said QIAGEN is an iconic and trusted brand in life sciences and molecular diagnostics, built on scientific rigor, quality, and technologies that support critical laboratory workflows worldwide. Pratt noted that what attracted him to QIAGEN is the combination of talented teams, a differentiated portfolio, and close customer relationships, and that his first priority will be to listen to QIAGEN teams and customers, learn more about the business, and understand where the company can sharpen its choices, strengthen execution, and create greater impact. Pratt added that he looks forward to working with the team to advance the vision of making improvements in life possible.
