Catalyst OrthoScience Reaches 10,000 Shoulder Arthroplasty Milestone and Secures $20M in New Financing

Naples, Florida-based Catalyst OrthoScience has surpassed 10,000 total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) procedures, solidifying its position in the fastest-growing segment of the orthopedics market. Alongside this achievement, the company has secured $20 million in equity and venture debt financing from RC Capital, Mutual Capital Partners, and Bridge Bank. This new funding will drive its growth and support its commitment to innovation in shoulder replacement solutions.
“With over 10,000 TSA procedures completed since our first case in 2016, Catalyst is transforming shoulder arthroplasty by combining innovation with efficiency and predictable outcomes,” said Carl O’Connell, CEO of Catalyst OrthoScience. “Our systems feature a unique, single-tray design, proprietary instruments, fewer surgical steps, and purpose-built implants, reducing case times and costs—especially in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), where faster turnaround and lower overhead are critical. This funding will help us expand our distribution, develop new products, and invest in talent and training to meet growing demand.”
Catalyst’s latest financing positions the company to accelerate its commercial adoption and further its mission to improve shoulder arthroplasty. Carter McNabb, Managing Partner at RC Capital and Catalyst board member, commented, “Catalyst is well-positioned in a rapidly growing sector. This funding will help enhance shoulder arthroplasty for surgeons and patients alike.” Bill Wickline, Managing Director of the Life Sciences Group at Bridge Bank, added, “We are excited to support Catalyst as it reaches this key milestone and continues its growth trajectory in advancing patient care.”
