Royal Philips has announced an expanded partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to bring its integrated diagnostics portfolio—including radiology, digital pathology, cardiology, and advanced AI visualization—to the cloud. With over 150 healthcare sites across North and Latin America already transitioned to Philips HealthSuite Imaging on AWS, this partnership accelerates the migration of health systems globally. The collaboration aims to unify diagnostic workflows, offering a secure, scalable platform for clinicians to access patient data and collaborate more effectively.

The partnership will also leverage AWS’s generative AI tools, including Amazon Bedrock, to automate routine tasks, optimize workflows, and enhance clinical decision-making. Innovations like conversational reporting, where findings are converted into structured reports in real time, promise to save radiologists 15–20% of report editing time while improving accuracy. “With generative AI tools like Philips’ ambient reporting, clinicians can focus on interpreting complex cases and delivering high-quality care,” said Dr. Edward Steiner, Medical Director at The York/WellSpan Advanced Prostate Care Center.

Philips’ cloud-based informatics solutions will be showcased at RSNA 2024 in Chicago from December 1–4, highlighting how these advancements are driving faster innovation and improving care delivery across radiology, cardiology, and digital pathology disciplines. CEO Roy Jakobs emphasized, “Collaborating with AWS allows us to innovate rapidly and deliver better outcomes to patients worldwide.”
