Shoulder Innovations Partners with INS to Develop Portable Robotic Platform for Shoulder Arthroplasty

Michigan-based Shoulder Innovations has announced a strategic partnership with Austria-based Interventional Systems (INS) to develop a transformative shoulder-specific micro-robotic solution that will enhance shoulder surgical precision, workflow efficiency, and enable exciting, new clinical approaches in the total shoulder arthroplasty and reverse shoulder arthroplasty markets.
The upcoming robotic solution will integrate with Shoulder Innovations’ ProVoyance platform to deliver a comprehensive suite of tools that improve surgical accuracy and support more streamlined workflows across different care settings, with particular emphasis on ambulatory surgery centers. The system is being developed as a portable unit that can be moved directly into the operating room, addressing one of the main barriers to adopting robotics in orthopedics.
Shoulder Innovations plans to use this platform to mitigate long-standing challenges associated with robotic surgery, including high costs, limited mobility, and complex training requirements. The company expects that surgeons and facilities will benefit from a solution that offers consistent workflows, simplified operations, and the flexibility to make real-time adjustments during procedures.
