Core Sound Imaging Announces $80 Million Growth Investment from PSG to Expand Studycast Platform

Core Sound Imaging, the provider of the Studycast medical imaging platform, has secured an $80 million growth investment from PSG to accelerate Studycast’s expansion into new clinical areas, enhance AI integration, and support growth within its core verticals. As part of the investment, PSG Senior Advisor Brian Kelly will join Core Sound Imaging as Executive Chairman.
Studycast is a cloud-based, end-to-end medical imaging platform designed to streamline workflows and improve efficiency in healthcare facilities. By offering a unified workflow, Studycast enables healthcare providers to order, review, and archive diagnostic images, while giving both providers and patients access to images anywhere with internet connectivity. Studycast currently serves core medical specialties such as cardiology, vascular surgery, and OB/GYN, supporting modalities like ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and electrocardiography.
“Given the increasing demand for medical imaging studies and the shortage of professionals to conduct them, technology solutions like Studycast are crucial in addressing this gap and meeting patient needs,” said Kelly. “Studycast’s proven technology can reduce administrative burdens and enhance operational efficiency without compromising clinical utility.”
“We are excited to partner with PSG to further strengthen our system and expand into new clinical areas,” said Core Sound Imaging Co-Founders Mark Smith, CEO, and Laurie Smith, Chief Revenue Officer. “PSG’s deep healthcare software and AI expertise will be invaluable as we continue to enhance Studycast to better support healthcare providers and patients.”
