Lucid Diagnostics Appoints Danielle Scelfo to Lead Market Access and Government Affairs

Lucid Diagnostics has appointed Danielle Scelfo as Senior Vice President, Market Access & Government Affairs. She will oversee payer engagement and reimbursement initiatives for the company’s EsoGuard Esophageal DNA Test, a molecular diagnostic tool designed to detect esophageal precancer. The appointment comes as Lucid advances toward potential Medicare coverage and broader commercial insurance adoption following a favorable MolDX Clinical Advisory Committee meeting.

Scelfo brings over 25 years of experience in diagnostics policy, reimbursement, and health economics. Her previous leadership roles include positions at ClearNote Health, CareDx, Hologic, Adaptive Biotechnologies, and Genomic Health, with earlier experience at UnitedHealthcare, Johnson & Johnson, and Sanofi. She has also chaired multiple industry workgroups, contributing to reimbursement and policy development for molecular diagnostics.

Lishan Aklog, M.D., Lucid’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, noted that her appointment comes at a critical juncture as the company works to expand patient access to EsoGuard and strengthen market access infrastructure. Scelfo stated she looks forward to leveraging the clinical evidence supporting EsoGuard to drive payer adoption and improve access for patients at risk of esophageal cancer.
