IBA to Supply Proteus®ONE Proton Therapy System to AIG Hospitals in India

IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A.), a global leader in particle accelerator technology and proton therapy solutions, has signed an agreement with the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) for the installation of a Proteus®ONE compact proton therapy system at AIG Hospitals’ new Oncology Centre in Hyderabad, India. The first payment for the system has been received, marking a key milestone in the expansion of advanced cancer treatment in the region.

As part of the agreement, IBA will provide its Proteus®ONE system along with a comprehensive Quality Assurance package from IBA Dosimetry. Proteus®ONE is a state-of-the-art, compact proton therapy system designed for flexibility and long-term upgradability. The system will also include DynamicARC® beam delivery technology upon regulatory approval.

This marks the first Proteus®ONE installation in South Asia and only the third proton therapy center planned in India, reinforcing the country’s growing investment in cutting-edge oncology treatments. AIG Hospitals anticipates treating its first patients at the facility in early 2028. With a typical end-user price ranging between EUR 35-45 million, including a multi-year maintenance contract, Proteus®ONE is a leading choice for healthcare institutions investing in next-generation cancer therapy.
