Medtronic and Huashan Hospital Collaborate on Neuroscience in China

Medtronic Kanghui and Huashan Hospital of Fudan University signed a strategic cooperation agreement to build a “Neuroscience Industry-Medicine Integration Innovation Platform”, and at the same time inaugurated the Changzhou Technology Transformation Centre under the platform.

The collaboration will focus on patient needs, share technical achievements and resources, and create a “Neuroscience Industry-Medical Integration Innovation Platform” with a dumbbell dual-centre layout.

The Changzhou Technology Transformation Centre will be based on the four functions of Medtronic Kanghui Changzhou Science and Technology Park: Clinical Customer Centre, Intelligent Manufacturing Centre, R&D Centre of Excellence, and Innovation Incubation Centre, and will leverage world-class leading R&D and manufacturing technologies to complete the validation and incubation of innovative products, accelerate the process of commercialisation.

The two sides will make full use of their respective advantageous resources, focus on the clinical needs of cerebrovascular diseases, craniocerebral occupational diseases, functional nerves, craniocerebral trauma and critical neurological diseases, and establish a multi-channel resource linkage in precision navigation, artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfaces and other intelligent devices, new technologies and new materials, to jointly promote innovation, transformation and ecology, enhance efficiency and inject new vitality into the development of neuroscience in China.

As a research and development centre for neuroscience clinical diagnosis and treatment, Huashan Hospital focuses on demand-driven clinical research, academic exchanges for innovation and translation, and patent applications for research results.
