Stanford Health Care Installs First-Ever MEVION S250-FIT Compact Proton Therapy System

Mevion Medical Systems announces the installation of the MEVION S250-FIT Proton Therapy System™ at Stanford Health Care, a milestone for proton therapy technology. This installation in a conventional linear accelerator (LINAC) vault integrates advanced patient treatment capabilities within existing infrastructure.

Manufactured in Littleton, Massachusetts, and transported via standard highway from Boston to Palo Alto, the MEVION S250-FIT is the only domestically built compact proton accelerator. Its integration with the MARIE™ upright patient positioning system from Leo Cancer Care and a diagnostic CT scanner offers improvements in patient comfort and treatment precision.

The system utilizes RayStation from RaySearch Laboratories, a leading proton therapy treatment planning software, enhancing precision and efficiency in patient care.
