InspireMD Appoints Dr. Peter A. Soukas as Chief Medical Officer to Lead Clinical Strategy

InspireMD, developer of the CGuard Prime carotid stent system for stroke prevention, has appointed Peter A. Soukas, M.D. as its new Chief Medical Officer. The move comes as the company prepares for the U.S. launch of its next-generation stent platform and seeks to strengthen its clinical leadership in carotid intervention.

This is a transformational time for carotid intervention, and Dr. Soukas will play a key role in advancing our mission to deliver best-in-class outcomes.”
Dr. Soukas currently serves as Director of Vascular Medicine and the Peripheral Vascular Interventional Laboratory at The Miriam Hospital and as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School. He founded and directs the university’s Vascular and Endovascular Medicine Fellowship Program. A Fellow of several professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Vascular Medicine, Dr. Soukas has extensive experience in interventional cardiology and vascular research.
Throughout his career, Dr. Soukas has served as principal investigator for more than 150 endovascular and 24 carotid stenting clinical trials. He has delivered over 300 invited lectures and authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. He remains active in clinical practice while taking on his new leadership role at InspireMD.
