Phoenix-based Mindset Medical, a digital health company specializing in contactless vital sign monitoring, has announced new financing from both existing and new investors. The funding will support the continued commercialization and development of the company’s remote measurement platform, which allows users to capture vital signs such as respiratory rate using the cameras on smartphones, tablets, or laptops.

This investment follows the recent U.S. FDA clearance of Mindset Medical’s respiratory rate measurement technology—its second major financing and second regulatory milestone since 2024. The company aims to expand its solution to measure additional vital signs, reinforcing its goal of integrating advanced, contactless diagnostics into everyday telehealth experiences.

Mitch Foster, CEO of Mindset Medical, expressed optimism about the company’s progress, emphasizing the team’s ability to navigate complex regulatory pathways and build meaningful partnerships in digital health. “We’ve turned the smartphone into an FDA-cleared medical device,” he said, highlighting the potential for the technology to make healthcare more accessible and efficient.

The latest funding round was led by Grayhawk Capital and AZ Venture Capital, with Xcellerant Ventures (XVC) joining as a new investor. As part of the investment, XVC Managing Partner John Shufeldt will join Mindset Medical’s board. The company plans to continue expanding its product capabilities in collaboration with clinicians and patients to ensure new features meet clinical and usability standards.

Mindset Medical’s continued growth reflects the broader trend toward digital health innovations that merge convenience with clinical-grade accuracy, positioning the company as a contributor to the evolving landscape of virtual care delivery.
