Olympus Announces iTind™ Center of Excellence Program for BPH Treatment

Olympus has introduced the iTind™ Center of Excellence Program to enhance the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate, through minimally invasive procedures. The program aims to identify urologists who demonstrate expertise in the iTind procedure, offering them specialized training and recognition for their proficiency.

The inaugural members of the program include Dr. C. Cragin Anderson of Colorado Urology, Dr. Petar Bajic of Cleveland Clinic’s Glickman Urological Institute, and Dr. Alex M. Kandabarow of Virginia Hospital Center Health Urology. Olympus’s Vice President, Matt Woodward, emphasized that the program highlights the commitment to improving patient care and outcomes through effective, non-invasive treatments for BPH.

The iTind procedure offers a minimally invasive solution for BPH that is performed in an office or outpatient setting. The device is temporarily inserted into the prostate, providing relief from symptoms without the need for invasive surgery. This procedure offers an alternative for patients seeking to avoid medications or those not yet ready for more invasive treatments. The iTind procedure is intended for men over 50 experiencing urinary symptoms related to BPH.
