NeuraWorx Raises Oversubscribed Seed Round to Advance Bioelectronic Therapies for CNS Disorders

Excelsior, Minnesota-based NeuraWorx Medical Technology has closed an oversubscribed Seed funding round led by Nexus NeuroTech Ventures, with participation from Foothill Ventures, Verge HealthTech Fund, the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, and other neurotechnology investors. The company is developing bioelectronic therapies for central nervous system (CNS) disorders, based on technology originating from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

The company’s approach targets cerebrovascular and glymphatic dysfunction, mechanisms increasingly linked to neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases. NeuraWorx aims to address these pathways through a first-in-class bioelectronic system designed to modulate brain physiology via objective biomarkers and clinically relevant endpoints to guide development.

John Propst, Principal at Nexus NeuroTech Ventures, stated that the investment reflects confidence in the scientific foundation behind the platform. “What differentiated this opportunity for Nexus was the strength of the underlying physiology, the clarity of the mechanistic hypothesis, and a robust chain of preclinical and emerging clinical evidence supporting translatability,” he said. He added that the company’s development strategy aligns closely with regulatory and clinical requirements.

NeuraWorx plans to use the new funding to expand its team and advance its clinical and regulatory programs. The company is currently focused on progressing its Cerebrovascular Pacing System toward first-in-human studies while strengthening internal capabilities across neuroscience, clinical development, and regulatory affairs.
