OU Health and Siemens Healthineers Collaborate on Patient Care, Research and Education in Oklahoma
OU Health and Siemens Healthineers have entered into a strategic 10-year value partnership to bring the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment to people across Oklahoma, sharing a vision to improve health outcomes in Oklahoma through the academic health mission of excellence in patient care, research and education.
The Value Partnership will provide OU Health with advanced imaging and laboratory equipment, including the 7-tesla Magnetom Terra MRI scanner, the only such scanner in Oklahoma and one of only five in the Midwest, and the Naeotom Alpha photon-counting computed tomography (CT) system, which represents a breakthrough in CT imaging by producing highly detailed images with minimal radiation and contrast dose to the patient.
OU Health will also use Siemens Healthineers mobile technology to provide preventive screenings and laboratory diagnostics across Oklahoma, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
The alliance will serve as a catalyst for innovative research and education for current and future imaging professionals through the creation of the OU Health Sciences Imaging Institute, which will play a critical role in research to drive future breakthroughs. Researchers across the University of Oklahoma will have access to the imaging equipment for their studies, and the institute will facilitate collaboration between clinicians and researchers to translate their discoveries into improved methods of preventing, diagnosing and treating disease.
