Prana Thoracic secures $3 million in Series A funding led by New World Angels, and followed by Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC, Texas Medical Center Venture Fund, and the University City Science Center’s Phase 1 Ventures.

This investment, combined with a $3 million award from the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas, will be used to develop the ThoraCore System and support Prana’s first-in-human clinical studies.

The system offers a minimally invasive, lung-sparing approach to accurately sample challenging-to-reach lung nodules for definitive diagnosis, which could dramatically improve outcomes for lung cancer patients.

The technology was developed on the Texas Medical Center campus in collaboration with Precision Thoracic Corporation, and Prana CEO Joanna Nathan expressed gratitude for the funding to accelerate the technology’s impact on patient care.
