SpectraWAVE Raises $50M in Series B Funding to Accelerate HyperVue™ Imaging System Expansion and Innovation

Bedford, MA-based SpectraWAVE has secured $50 million in an oversubscribed Series B funding round led by Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC, Inc., with participation from S3 Ventures, Lumira Ventures, SV Health Investors, Deerfield Management, NovaVenture, Heartwork Capital, and other undisclosed investors. The funds will support the commercial expansion and enhancement of the company’s FDA 510(k)-cleared HyperVue™ Imaging System, designed to advance the safety and efficacy of coronary stenting procedures.

The HyperVue™ Imaging System integrates DeepOCT and Near Infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technologies to provide superior imaging quality and procedural efficiency. Unlike existing technologies that often compromise on image clarity or ease of use, HyperVue offers rapid, no-flush catheter preparation, extended pullbacks to reduce contrast usage, and a comprehensive AI-driven workflow for image analysis. In addition to its imaging capabilities, SpectraWAVE is developing a wire-free physiology software add-on that will enable physicians to assess pressure drops in the coronary arteries quickly, using the same HyperVue hardware. This innovation aims to further enhance clinical decision-making and sets the stage for future developments in the field.
